Bahia Bakari is a French woman who gained international attention after being the sole survivor of Yemenia Flight 626, which crashed near the Comoros Islands in the Indian Ocean on June 30, 2009. At the time of the crash, Bahia was just 14 years old and was traveling from Paris to Comoros to visit family.
Bahia survived by clinging to a piece of debris for over nine hours before being rescued by local fishermen. She suffered multiple injuries, including a broken collarbone, but miraculously survived the crash. The crash killed 152 of the 153 passengers on board.
Following the crash, Bahia became a symbol of hope and survival. She wrote a book about her experience, titled "Miracle sur l'Océan" (Miracle in the Ocean), which was published in 2010. Bahia now works as a motivational speaker, sharing her story of survival and resilience with audiences around the world.
